Senior Business Analyst

This role is home based with fortnightly travel to our offices in Monkspath, near Solihull in the West Midlands.  It is essential for this role that you live with a reasonable commutable distance.  Candidates who do not live within a reasonable commutable distance will not be considered.

Are you an experienced Business Analyst ready to take the lead on complex initiatives while mentoring others? We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in delivering high-impact business and IT projects, while supporting and developing our growing BA function.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on analysis work with leadership responsibility, influencing change across the organisation and deputising for the Lead Business Analyst when required.

The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

• Lead the definition of project requirements, scope and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
• Capture, analyse and document business requirements and create end‑to‑end process models (As‑Is / To‑Be).
• Conduct and facilitate peer reviews, requirements walkthroughs, and quality checks for the wider BA team.
• Support User Acceptance Testing and develop supporting user documentation for solution deployment.
• Work with both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.

Support & Develop the BA Team

• Provide day‑to‑day guidance, support and oversight to Business Analysts and Junior Business Analysts.
• Review documentation, requirements and process models produced by the team to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency.
• Support the development of a common, evolving way of working within the BA team.
• Assist in identifying skills gaps and support the Lead Business Analyst in developing team capability.

Partner with Stakeholders

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across the business.
• Work collaboratively with 3rd‑party suppliers, ensuring clear communication of requirements and effective delivery.
• Represent the BA function in meetings, workshops and project forums, including IT governance.

Deputise & Contribute to Governance

• Provide cover for the Lead Business Analyst as required, contributing to resourcing decisions, supporting programme governance, and representing the BA function across IT & Digital Transformation and wider business.
• Support the monitoring of BA contributions to project plans, risks, issues, and change management processes.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Significant experience as a Business Analyst with strong end-to-end requirements gathering and process modelling expertise.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.

• Experience supporting UAT and solution delivery.

• Ability to mentor and coach other Business Analysts.

• Highly organised, proactive and self-sufficient approach.

• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Desirable

• Experience within retail or hospitality environments.

• Awareness of ITIL and TOGAF principles.

• Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
