We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Assistant to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the end-to-end payroll process for our managed house and group employees.
You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple pay cycles, including weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls, supporting a workforce of approximately 16,000 employees.
Process payrolls accurately across various pay frequencies for both hourly and salaried employees
Deliver excellent customer service by managing and resolving employee payroll queries efficiently
Ensure all payroll activities are completed in line with strict deadlines
Process expense claims and reporting using Selima/Coda systems
Maintain and check the accuracy of payroll data received
Prepare and process statutory documentation (P11Ds, P45s, P60s, etc.)
Build strong working relationships with Regional Managers, General Managers, HR, and other stakeholders
Ensure compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and current legislation
Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency
Support the Payroll Manager and wider Accounts team with ad hoc tasks
Proven payroll experience (hospitality sector experience desirable)
Strong knowledge of PAYE and statutory payroll requirements
Experience with payroll systems
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
